Tutorial n°05 : Fatigue (Class 1)

ASME Class 1 (CD=1 in card IDEN)
Hot modulus used for flexibility and modal analysis (MD=1 in card TITL and reference case in FREQ)
5 LCAS : 1 LCAS for design conditions, 1 LCAS for ASME eq.9 Level A and 3 LCAS for thermal cases (100% power, 50% power and shutdown conditions)
4 thermal transient cases with card TCAS : 0%→100% (start-up), 100%→50%, 50%→100% and 100%→0% (shutdown)

Floor response spectrum case for earthquake with RCAS (primary response) and RSEC (secondary response). We assume that earthquake occur during full power operating conditions (100% power)

Load combinations : no CSTR in Class 1, only CCAS true combinations

5 CCAS : 1 CCAS for earthquake total (quadratic sum with primary and secondary response), 1 CCAS for ASME eq.9 Level B "DW+Earthquake", 2 CCAS for calculations of situations "100% power + Earthquake" and "100% power - Earthquake" and 1 CCAS for identification of the inertial part of the earthquake (for verifying ASME Eq.13)

6 Load Sets for fatigue analysis (with card LSET)

If MO = dynamic case, Eq.12 is evaluated with moments from PR and Eq.13 with moments from CCAS having same FL (only inertial response) added to dead weight.

Definition of spectrum with card SPEC (for floor response spectrum analysis)

Operating conditions for LCAS (100% power = 350°C and 45 bars, and 50% power = 325°C and 35 bars)

Fluid transients for each thermal transient case (initial state of fluid / final state / initial temperature / final temperature / temperature ramp time / flow rate / initial absolute pressure / final absolute pressure / pressure ramp time) with card TRAN

+ card PAIR for heat transfer data (thermal conductivity for Pipe, thermal diffusivity for Pipe, mean coefficient of thermal expansion)
